Holiday Bake Along - Medeiros Needlecraft Design

Melinda’s recipe calls for cardamom, one of my VERY favorite spices! Need I mention, this is going onto my *Must Bake* list?

I hope you’ll follow along with this year’s Holiday Bake Along. Be sure and check out last year’s recipes, as well!

Santa’s Favorite Spritz Cookies
It is an annual ritual in our home to place a plate of freshly baked cookies, a mug of milk, a festive napkin and the Santa Key on a round table near the fireplace. My children carefully arrange every item on the table to make sure Santa has the opportunity to sample each of their specially baked homemade cookies. The kids always place carrots for the reindeer and a variety of cookies to include Gingerbread Men, sugar cookies and, Santa’s favorite, Spritz cookies. The round table is the first thing they visit Christmas morning to see if he ate their cookies. The milk is gone. The napkin is neatly folded. The Santa Key is hanging on the Christmas tree. The carrots are gone. The kids have learned that there is never even a crumb left of the Spritz cookies, while sometimes Santa will try the other cookies, but leave some. I tell them that there were just too many cookies and he has A LOT of houses to visit. We have learned by observation year after year that these are Santa’s favorite Spritz cookies. I’ll hope you’ll try them too, but make a double batch just to be safe!
